Even the King of Karate Slips Sometimes: Jackie Chan Bloopers
Jackie Chan is one of Hollywood’s true icons: the unrivaled master of slapstick kung-fu. He has entertained audiences over the years with his unique brand of action and comedy, using unlikely props and complicated martial arts moves to defeat an army of movie villains. It only lends to his fame that he performs all his own stunts in every movie he stars in, which is really funny when you consider he started his career as a stunt double in Bruce Lee movies.
However, as good as Jackie is, sometimes things go hilariously wrong. Thankfully for us, most Jackie Chan movies include a blooper reel, which, when not poking fun at Jackie’s rather tenuous command of the English language on occasion, always include more than a few do it yourself Jackie stunts that don’t quite come off as planned. They have the taste to not show the film of Jackie hurting himself (he has broken almost every breakable part in his body, and bruised the ones that can’t break) but the ones they do show are always side stitchingly chuckle worthy. Now enjoy the amassed blooper reels of the Rush Hour trilogy, arguably Jackie’s best work.
